QA Engineer

We are thrilled to offer an opportunity to make a major impact with a rapid career advancement. The ideal candidate is an accomplished Senior QA Engineer that is a self-sufficient operator comfortable with handling multiple projects and priorities in a very fast-paced start-up environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure user requirements are satisfied, releases to production are defect free, and systems/changes will perform as expected and will not adversely impact operations.
  • Establish QA processes and guidelines; develop and enforce the use of QA policies and procedures.
  • Work with the engineering and product teams to identify scenarios and edge cases that consumers may experience.
  • Analyse business requirements to come up with a clear testing strategy and demonstrate deep domain expertise.
  • Document, track and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Determine production readiness of the application.
  • Develop response strategies and processes for high-criticality and security vulnerability related bug notifications.
  • Pro-actively investigate and find issues/bugs within both the existing and newly-developed code base.
  • Configure advanced QA automation and test applications using latest test automation best practices.
  • Develop and manage well-functioning regression test suites.
  • Test APIs and integrations and write technical documentation to describe how regression suite function.
  • Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of QA experience for e-commerce platforms, preferably headless commerce.
  • Obsession with attention to detail.
  • Experience with testing web-based applications in a team larger than 8 FTEs.
  • Experience testing highly customisable application workflows across multiple configurations and implementation generations, from legacy to cutting edge.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Agile ways of working and how they apply to the various aspects of software testing.
  • Experience testing integrations with payment processing systems like Stripe, Affirm, Klarna, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with bug tracking and Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Process-focused, self-motivated, proactive, and attentive to excellence.
  • A track record of solving problems and getting things done in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.
  • Ability to define solutions, provide estimates on effort and risk, and evaluate technical feasibility.
  • Experience writing clear, concise and comprehensive bug reports.
